Austin Ashbaugh (He/They)
Austin is a close-to-graduating masters student of ecology and evolutionary biology - who obviously hasn't gotten enough considering they are starting their PhD in the fall. Austin specializes in zoology and specifically mammalian zoology. Their focus is understanding the origins and evolution of mammalian dental complexity. He currently resides in a paleontology based lab at the University of Calgary. Alongside traditional scientific research, he engages in science communication in several regards and is interested in teaching and learning research. He is an advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion in academia and beyond and has been involved with integrating queer culture and academia through science communication.
